Level 2 BTEC Diploma

How will I learn?
You will learn through a mixture of assignment writing and practical work,with the opportunity to develop your playing skills with dart fish video analysis.
How will I be assessed?
We will assess your work using observations of your performance during practical tasks, as well as by submission of written coursework. Assessments throughout the course vary from assignment to assignment, giving you a chance to showcase your development through a variety of different methods.
All units are internally assessed and there are no examinations. You will complete assignments for each unit and these could include: written essays, verbal reports, assessed role-play and presentations, case studies, observations, diaries or journals.
General Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at Grade D to G, or a Pass in a relevant Level 1 qualification. We will invite you to attend a guidance interview, sit an assessment and ask you to produce a good reference. If you are coming from another school or college, you will need an 87% attendance record.
Specific Entry Requirements
You will need to enjoy sports, and have the desire to improve your own personal fitness. You must be willing to work within a team, and be prepared to develop your personal qualities. You must be enthusiastic, energetic and show an interest in developing a range of skills and techniques that will help you in gaining employment in the Sports and Leisure industry.
What could I do next?
You could progress to a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport or enter employment. We work closely with Basildon Sporting Village and many of our students have found work in Activity Leadership, Lifeguarding, Fitness Instructing and as Recreation Assistants.
