Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma
Two-year course

This is a 2 year qualification which encompasses the essential skills, knowledge and understanding needed to gain confidence and progression in the art and design field. This 120 Credit Diploma is broadly equivalent to 2-3 A Levels and is intended to prepare learners for further education, progression to University or a career within the art and design sector. 

How will I learn?
You will be expected to complete assignments at home and work in class. There are no exams on this programme.

You will be expanding on your contextual knowledge, practical skills, techniques and specialist processes throughout this course. You will begin with experimentation and guidance on how to plan projects and communicate ideas through art and design. You will then be guided through projects that focus on your own professional practice and refinement of specialist skills, having valuable opportunities to meet local artists and professionals through visits and trips.

Through our enrichment programme, you will also have opportunities to visit galleries, businesses and gain work experience or attend workshops which are all integral to building and expanding your personal and professional development. 

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continually through practical project work, coursework, written assignments, time constrained assignments and through giving presentations. 

General Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at Grade C or above, OR a Level 2 BTEC Diploma (or equivalent) in a related area at Distinction level. 

What could I do next?
You could progress onto a Art related degree or Higher National Diploma or apprenticeship.
